Patrick Corbin to Nationals

Corbin has reportedly agreed to a six-year deal with the Washington Nationals. The numbers are not out yet but Ken Rosenthal said it has exceed Yu Darvish’s $126M guaranteed contract with the Chicago Cubs.

Corbin adds to an already powerful rotation that features a three-time Cy Young Winner in Max Scherzer and the talented Right-Hander Stephen Strasburg.

The Washington Nationals are showing that they will not wait around for Bryce Harper to make his decision by landing the most talented starting pitcher in the free agent class.

Here was my Patrick Corbin free agent prediction that goes more in depth on his abilities and potential: Predicting Where the Top Free Agent Pitcher Will Land

BREAKING: Seattle to get NHL Team in 2021

Well, the rumors have become reality, as Seattle has officially been given an NHL team that will begin in the 2021 season. The vote was a unanimous one which is something you like to see, as it was finally time for the NHL to get Seattle involved. They will be the 32nd team in the National Hockey League, evening out both conferences. With this move, Arizona will move to the Central division when Seattle is ready to compete.

This comes just a season after the Vegas Golden Knights first NHL season which led them all the way to the Stanley Cup Final, and you have to believe the success of that expansion team and the continuous interest in Seattle to have the NHL come to their city.

Congratulations to the city of Seattle as they finally have accomplished their dreams of adding another team, hopefully the NBA can follow and get them a team soon.

More to come as Seattle will begin to prepare for the 2021 season.

BOXING IS BACK: Wilder-Fury Superfight Ends in Draw

BOXING IS BACK: Wilder-Fury Superfight Ends in Draw

Boxing’s fight of the year ends in controversy when Wilder-Fury ends in DRAW. In this highly anticipated fight, undefeated Deontay Wilder (40-0) took on the undefeated Tyson Fury (27-0) in a battle of the heavyweights.

This fight was seen by many to be Fury’s after dominating many rounds with smart boxing while Wilder continued to throw haymakers and miss. However, what made it so exciting was the continuous taunting by Fury and the pure fact you knew Wilder could end it with one swing, which almost happened… TWICE.

One:

TWO:

https://twitter.com/streetfitebanch/status/1069113949155667969

This fight was awesome to watch, as it seems every time Wilder may be out, he hits the big one that he needs to win or stay in it. The official score card is as listed below:

wilder-fury-scorecard

Yeah, I will admit I did not see Wilder coming out with this one until the biggest blow in the 12th and final round that I really did think end the fight until Fury rose from the dead like the Undertaker. Actual live look from the fight of Fury after the big hit:

200

However, Fury seemingly did nothing besides dodge, which is why I agree with this tie, so move on people.

It was everything boxing is and should be in this one, and while Anthony Joshua continues to be a bum and hide from his fiercest competition in these two gladiators, I feel as though these two will meet again down the road.

It was exciting, it was intense, and it was just so fun to witness. If you haven’t seen it, make sure to watch the highlights because this one was awesome my words cannot do it justice.

Heavyweight… scratch that… BOXING. IS. BACK.

TORONTO – Re-Signing Nylander was the Wrong Move

TORONTO – Resigning Nylander was the Wrong Move

The William Nylander Saga in Toronto has officially found it’s end result as the Maple Leafs have officially re-signed Nylander to a 6-year deal worth an annual average of $6.9 million. And while many may be happy in Toronto that they get to get Nylander back on the ice for their already dominant team, this is a move that just hurt your future with two certain players on the cusp of demanding money who are both better than Nylander… Mitch Marner and the face of the franchise, Auston Matthews.
As the first big time NHL holdout finds its end with an ultimate contract, this certainly was a bad move by the Leafs. Yes, I understand there is a real possibility that they win the Cup this year, but Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews are two guys you do not want to lose. The addition in the offseason of John Tavares and now this re-signing almost guarantees that one of their two stars will move on because they will not get the money that rightfully deserve. I was a big fan of the idea of a Nylander trade for the Leafs, because they would get a huge haul back and have the money to resign Matthews and Marner next season, but instead they kept the price incredibly high in hopes that they could re-sign him. So now, who do they keep and who eventually takes off? Let us compare these three players so you see what I am talking about.

William Nylander

william-nylander-contract
In back to back seasons, Nylander has scored 61 points with his career high in goals being 22 and his career high in assists being 41. While 61 is a great number at his young age of just 22, I feel his continuous struggles in the playoffs last season and at times during the season would have made them realize he may not be worth the contract they had given him.

Mitch Marner

mitch-marner-first-nhl-goal
Marner has been a stud since he debuted in the show in 2016. In his first season where he totaled 77 games, he totaled 61 points. Yes, in his first season, he matched Nylander’s career best. Last season, he improved on those marks with a 69 point season and a dominant showing in the playoffs against the Bruins, where in seven games he totaled 9 points. And now this season, he is off to a scorching start, as he has played 26 games, totaling 36 points and is a plus 10 on the season so far. His point total ranks him third in the entire NHL. Clearly Marner, just 21 years old, is on his way to big things in the NHL, as this season may be his coming out party.

Auston Matthews

maple-leafs-auston-matthews-placed-on-ir-out-4-weeks__226861_
The former first overall pick took the league by storm in his first season, totaling 40 goals and 69 points in his first season. Matthews is clearly the best out of the three, yet his continuous health problems may be the only thing holding him back from being the guy chosen by the Leafs (it won’t, but it could). Last season, he missed 20 games, yet finished with 63 points in 62 games in just his second season. And finally, this season he has only played 12 games but is off to ridiculous start with 12 goals and 19 total points so far. It is clear that as long as Matthews stays healthy, he is the best player on the ice most nights. He is the franchise, and he is the guy that Toronto will more than likely have to keep even after signing Tavares.

I feel as though the decision should have been simple to keep Matthews and Marner while accepting parting away with Nylander, but now because of this contract they may need to make a decision next season if neither wants to take a discount to stay in Toronto. However, Toronto is off to their best starts in years and may be the most fun team in hockey, so for the 2018-2019 season, let us just enjoy this dynamic, young team.

WEEK 13 SMART STARTS & PINE RIDERS

The last week of the Fantasy regular season is here and this could be a crucial one for many. Maybe even do or die for some of you. So hopefully I can lend a hand and help you guys make decisions to your lineups this week that can push you towards that victory. Good luck to all and I hope you enjoy the article.!

SMART STARTS

QB

RUSSELL WILSON, SEA

NFL: NOV 09 Seahawks at Cardinals

Wilson has been on fire since week 5, throwing 18 touchdown passes and only 2 interceptions. And going up against a San Fran defense that has allowed 2+ passing touchdowns in all but two games this year, I see Wilson’s streak of multiple touchdowns per game continuing. I easily see him as a top 10 play this week.

JAMEIS WINSTON, TB

Yes, I had him as a smart start last week. Yes, I was correct. Yes, he will do it again. He is playing Carolina who has allowed 12 passing touchdowns in the past four weeks. And in the five games Jameis has started this year, he has thrown for over 300 yards three times and the Panthers have allowed that twice in the past three games. Winston should be flirting with top 5 QB numbers this week.

RB

PHILLIP LINDSAY, DEN

Denver’s backfield is no longer a committee. Royce Freeman has been nothing because of the red hot undrafted rookie. Since week 7, Lindsay has at least 15 touches in each game. He also has 5 touchdowns during that span as well. And facing a disastrous Cincinnati rush defense who has allowed opposing backs to rush for 460 yards and five touchdowns in the past 3 weeks, I see Lindsay as a high end RB2 this week.

GUS EDWARDS, BAL

In the two weeks of Lamar Jackson starting, Gus has had at least 17 carries and broke the 115 yard mark in both games. There is a great chance he keeps it going, playing against Atlanta who has allowed 454 rushing yards in the past three weeks. As long as Lamar is out there, Gus should be in your lineups.

WR

LARRY FITZGERALD, ARZ

853861584-0

The veteran and future Hall of Famer has been on the up ever since Byron Leftwich took over as OC. In those four weeks he has 4 touchdown catches versus only 1 in the first 7 games. Rosen has learned to look for Larry in the red zone and that should continue this week against the porous Packers secondary who have allowed 6 receiving touchdowns in the past five weeks. Look for Larry Legend to have a solid Sunday.

DJ MOORE, CAR

In the past three weeks, Moore has exploded as he has caught 19 passes out of 22 targets for 268 yards and one score. And this week he faces no challenge against Tampa who has allowed at least one score to opposing receivers in every game and 17 total this season. Moore has the potential to score WR2 numbers this week.

TE

ERIC EBRON, IND

Now that Doyle is out for the rest of the season, Ebron should go back to his early season performance once again. Ebron leads all tight ends with 12 total TDs, the next best is Kelce with 7. And facing the Jags D who has allowed 6 receiving touchdowns to opposing TEs in the past 4 weeks, I see Ebron having a chance to be this weeks number one tight end.

PINE RIDERS

QB

TOM BRADY, NE

ar-180209658

The GOAT has an extremely tough matchup this week against the Vikings who have allowed only 4 passing touchdowns since week 6. And during that span, only two Quarterbacks have broken 200 passing yards. Plus with the Patriots looking more like a run first offense as of late, I see Brady outside of my top 12 QBs this week.

CARSON WENTZ, PHI

Wentz has not been great this year, after tearing his ACL late last season. And I see his woes continuing this week. Since the Eagles week off three weeks ago, Wentz has three touchdown passes and four interceptions thrown. And facing a Redskins D who have allowed only three passing touchdowns in the last three weeks, Wentz should be on the bench this week.

RB

MARLON MACK, IND

Since coming back from an injury in week 6, Mack has been pretty consistent. Touching the ball at least 13 times in each game and finding the end zone 5 times. But facing a Jacksonville Defense who haven’t allowed a rushing touchdown or a 100 yard rusher since week 7, I would look somewhere else if possible this week.

LeGARRETTE BLOUNT, DET

It is looking like Kerryon Johnson will be sidelined once again this week, and you might be thinking another game for Blount to go off. But think again. Playing against the red hot Rams, the Lions should be down big for a great portion of the game. And that means Theo Riddick will be out there to catch passes, unlike last weeks Thanksgiving game where Blount feasted and had 20 touches. Blount is a very risky and TD dependent flex this week.

WR

TY HILTON, IND

NFL: Arizona Cardinals at Indianapolis Colts

TY has been amazing in the past two weeks, catching 16 passes for 280 yards and two scores. But this week he faces Jalen Ramsey and the Jags, who, just three weeks ago, held TY to 3 catches for 77 Yards. I see the same kind of game from TY this week. Rank him as a boom or bust WR3 this week.

JOSH GORDON, NE

Gordon has been decent for the Pats since the trade, catching at least four passes since week 6. But he has managed to only find the end zone once in that time frame. And he faces a tough Vikings secondary this week, who have allowed one or less receiving touchdowns this year in all games but one. I rank Gordon as a low end Flex this week.

TE

JIMMY GRAHAM, GB

Since the week 7 bye, Jimmy graham has surpassed 5 PPR fantasy points only twice and only has two touchdown receptions all year. And with his injured thumb, which you could tell affected him in last weeks game, I place Graham outside of my top 10 TEs this week.

David Quinn Inspiring New York Rangers in First Season as Head Coach

After the New York Rangers were demolished 5-0 on the road in the last game of the regular season against the Philadelphia Flyers, the Rangers decided to fire Alain Vigneault as the head coach of the team. Under Vigneault, they made it to a Stanley Cup Final and they also had deep playoff runs, but New York had nothing to show for it.

The Rangers finished in last place in the Metropolitan Division last season. During the offseason, they decided to hire David Quinn as the new head coach. He coached at Boston University. The Dallas Stars and the Philadelphia Flyers are the other two teams in the league right now that have coaches that have coached at the NCAA level.

Quinn has brought an energetic attitude to a young New York Rangers team. They are in the middle of a rebuild and the Rangers hope one day they will be serious Stanley Cup contenders again. New York is going through growing pains this season despite their 13-10-2 record with 28 points. They currently sit in third place in the Metropolitan Division.

The New York Rangers have scored 75 goals so far this season and they have given up 76 goals. New York started the season with a 4-7-1 record. They have been a lot better lately and they look more structured and faster.

Their roster has an average age of 26.4. Filip Chytil is only 19 years old. He was a first-round pick last season and so was Lias Andersson. Chytil has scored five goals and has recorded four assists so far this season. His plus/minus rating is even. Andersson has scored one goal and one assist so far this season. He has only played in 11 games so far this season.

Chris Kreider leads the team in points with 21 (13 goals and 8 assists). His plus/minus rating is seven.

Mike Zibanejad has scored eight goals and recorded 13 assists. His plus/minus rating is -6. Neal Pionk and Brett Howden have each scored four goals so far this season. Pionk has 11 assists and Howden has nine assists. Pionk’s plus/minus rating is -4. Howden’s plus/minus rating is -1. Kevin Hayes has scored five goals and recorded 12 assists. His plus/minus rating is 6.

The youth movement has been pretty good under Dan Quinn, but they still don’t have that player that can take over a game.

At some point, they will hit a wall because of how young they are, and they are not ready to contend yet. I predicted before the season that this team would finish in seventh in the Metropolitan Division. They don’t have enough to contend with the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Pittsburgh Penguins, or the Washington Capitals. The Carolina Hurricanes, the Philadelphia Flyers, and the New Jersey Devils all have a better roster than the Rangers do. The only team that doesn’t is the New York Islanders and they will also fall at some point.

Speaking of falling, goaltender Henrik Lundqvist numbers have dipped over the past couple of years, but he has been better this season. His record is 9-7 with a .921 save percentage and a 2.60 GAA. Alexander Georgiev is the backup goaltender for the Rangers. His record is 4-3 with a .903 save percentage and a 3.12 GAA, along with one shutout.

Goaltender Igor Shestyorkin could be in the New York Rangers system very soon and it could help David Quinn’s cause since Lundqvist is 36 years old and he has only two years left on his contract.

Right winger Vitali Kravtsov, defenseman K’Andre Miller, and defenseman Nils Lundkvist were all drafted in the first-round in 2018 and they could make an impact sooner rather than later.

David Quinn has this team heading in the right direction. If they make it to the playoffs this season, the New York Rangers will have nothing to lose. In a couple of years from now, they will have Stanley Cup or bust expectations once again.

Todd McLellan Relieved of Coaching Duties; He’s Edmonton’s Scapegoat

There has been already a couple of in season firings this season across the NHL. The Edmonton Oilers decided to fire Head Coach Todd McLellan on Tuesday. Ken Hitchcock will take over as the head coach for Edmonton.

Hitchcock is coming out of retirement at the age of 66 years old. McLellan was in his fourth season as the Oilers coach. His record with them was 123-119-24. He led them to the postseason in the 2015-2016 season. They were the number two seed in the Pacific Division that season. Edmonton lost in seven games in the second-round against the Anaheim Ducks.

After that season, General Manager Peter Chiarelli decided to get rid of some key role players like Benoit Pouliot and Jordan Eberle. It hurt Edmonton the next season and it has hurt them this season. Chiarelli is the one responsible for this mess right now and not McLellan. Mark Letestu was also traded at the trade deadline last season to the Columbus Blue Jackets and he was also a part of the Oilers success in 2015-2016.

Todd McLellan is being the scapegoat for Chiarelli’s problems. The Edmonton Oilers record so far this season is 9-10-1 with 19 points. They have scored 57 goals so far this season, but they have given up 66 goals. Edmonton is currently in sixth place in the Pacific Division. The Oilers have lost their last six out of seven games.

Other than Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, they have a terrible roster and their no depth on it. Those three players have 28 goals scored. The rest of the roster has a combined 29 and that is very alarming.

Depth has been a major concern for this team and in order to win a Stanley Cup, teams must rollout three to four solid lines.

Peter Chiarelli has not drafted well at all and that is also why the Edmonton Oilers are a mess. Connor McDavid must carry this team night in and night out. When you pay someone 11 million a year, it is vital to draft well and get him the help he needs.

When Edmonton misses the postseason again this year, the franchise will need to look in the mirror and realize what the real problem was. Ken Hitchcock will not be able to get the most of his team.

Chiarelli has been with the Edmonton Oilers since 2015 and his seat must be warm right now. They should get rid of him at the end of the season. He messed up something good after the 2016-2017 season.

Peter Chiarelli panicked because Edmonton lost the series in the second-round and he felt like he needed to make massive changes. Instead, Chiarelli should have kept the same roster he did that season.

I have told many people that Todd McLellan being fired as the head coach in Edmonton is unfair. McLellan was given a terrible roster to work with and Chiarelli set him up to fail. He probably thought because Connor McDavid was around, he could carry this team night in and night out and it doesn’t work like that. If the Edmonton Oilers don’t make the necessary changes in the near future to help McDavid, they will be waste his prime years even though he is 21 years old.

Changing the Game: Patrick Mahomes is the Steph Curry of the NFL

Patrick Mahomes the NFL’s version of Steph Curry

To say that Steph Curry has changed the game of basketball would be an understatement. He is, without a shadow of doubt, the greatest three-point shooter of all time at the age of 30. He has smashed records, won MVP (twice), and continues to win championships. Whether you hate the Warriors or not, Steph Curry is the reason the NBA is where they are now. If you look at the numbers the release at the end of the year every season, the NBA continues to grow, and it’s been so popular with Steph Curry on top. Curry’s ability to hit shots from half court and win games with the most ridiculous shots brings fans to seats. Having the ability to hit the three ball from anywhere at any time is what the fans want to see. And now, the NFL is getting their version of Steph Curry, which is huge for the league and the reason it makes sports so fun to watch.

I get it, people have talked up Mahomes all season. But his talent is league changing. The ability to make any throw in any way is unbelievable. The high-powered offense that he has been entered into makes his abilities soar. Yes, Aaron Rodgers can make all the throws, but there’s just something about Mahomes that makes it more special. The power in his arm matches the likes of the original gunslinger, Brett Favre. The way he is able to move and throw on the run is game-changing. The swagger that Mahomes has, the ability to be apart of such a high-powered offense that can legitimately score on every single play is what makes him great. Fast paced action is what attracts fans. The ability to score at will is what sets Mahomes and Curry apart from the pact in their respective sports.

giphy
This man is something else

Mahomes numbers this season through 11 games are on pace to break records. 3,628 passing yards and 37 TDs lead the entire NFL. The Kid is special, he is bringing more and more eyes to the game that are needed as the ratings for the NFL had been dropping like flies the past few seasons. The NFL knows that they have someone special in their league now, and like the NFL has done, they must take advantage. Maybe instead of putting the Cowboys in primetime 70 times every season, maybe you continue to get the most electric player they’ve seen in years since Michael Vick. Deep bombs, missile darts down the field, and the ability to use different arm angles to deliver a beautiful throw. It’s exactly what the NFL has needed.

Will Mahomes cap off this magical season with and MVP award and maybe even more? That remains to be seen. But the amount of buzz the Rams/Chiefs game had was a lot to do with Mahomes. And do you remember the buzzer beater Steph Curry hit against the Thunder in a primetime game in February of 2016? Well if you don’t, here is a reminder.

tenor

It was a perfect scenario for such a big-time game. And last night, that is what everyone wanted to see again. Somehow, someway Mahomes pull off a wild throw to win the game. And while it failed to happen, it made the game that more exciting. The possibility of Mahomes leading them down the field was enough to make that game even more exciting somehow.

A cannon, some swagger, and a bright future makes Mahomes exactly what the NFL has been looking for, changing the sport, just like Steph Curry did for the NBA. (They also slightly look alike)

The 2017 Quarterback Class could compete with the 2004 Draft Class

The 2004 NFL Draft brought many enormously successful talents to the biggest stage. Larry Fitzgerald, Sean Taylor, Vince Wilfork, DeAngelo Hall, Jonathon Vilma, Steven Jackson, Darnell Dockett, and a slough of other Pro-Bowl talent were brought into the league as part of the 2004 NFL Draft. However, the class was highlighted by three Hall of Fame Quarterbacks in Eli Manning, Philip Rivers, and Ben Roethlisberger.

Manning, Roethlisberger and Rivers rank 6th, 7th, and 8th on the passing yards list respectively. The trio have amassed 17 Pro-Bowl Awards and four Super Bowl Championships. They are etched in the National Football League’s History and have been tied to each other ever since. As this group reaches the end of their career and starts to look towards their Hall of Fame inductions, a new class has come in and made waves.

2017 Quarterback Draft Class

Mitchell Trubisky (2nd Overall) – Chicago Bears

See the source imageTrubisky was drafted by a team that knew they needed a franchise Quarterback to build around. In his sophomore season, Trubisky is getting the job done. The Bears have built an elite defense that allows Mitchell to play smart and not have to force the ball down the field all game long. He has made the right reads this season, and lead the Chicago bears to a 7-3 record, good for first in the NFC North. Through 10 games this season, Trubisky has accumulated 2,469 passing yards, 20 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He has done enough to keep his team in the game and has grown substantially in his sophomore season. As a rookie Mitchell was barely even a game manager. This year with new head coach Matt Nagy, Trubisky has been able to flourish. I expect Matt Nagy to stick around for a while, and for Mitchell Trubisky to improve each season he spends with the young offensive minded Head Coach.

Patrick Mahomes (10th Overall) – Kansas City Chiefs

See the source imageMahomes had the lowest amount of hype surrounding him coming out of Texas Tech despite having an absolute rocket for an arm. Fortunately for football fans, the Kansas City Chiefs did their due diligence and found somewhat of a diamond in the rough, despite selecting him with the 10th overall pick. Mahomes was brought into a great situation with the Chiefs. He was able to learn under Alex Smith, who took him under his wing despite being direct competition. Andy Reid developed the now 23-year-old rising star into one of the brightest young talents in football. After spending all but one game as Alex Smith’s understudy last season, Mahomes has come in and taken the league by storm. He leads the NFL with 3,628 passing yards and 37 touchdowns. “Showtime” has lead his team to a 9-2 record after a 54-51 shootout loss to the powerhouse Rams. While his numbers are still MVP quality, they were impacted by some risky throws down the stretch that he had to make to give his team a chance to comeback. Mahomes could legitimately become one of the greats in the league. He has all the tools and is in a perfect situation with Andy Reid at the helm. There aren’t many players with a brighter future in the NFL.

Deshaun Watson (12th Overall) – Houston TexansSee the source image

Watson had one of the best college careers in recent memory. He was in back to back College Football National Championship Games as a Clemson Tiger and defeated Alabama in his final season, under Dabo Swinney. He came into the NFL and lit the league on fire before tearing his ACL to end his rookie season in his seventh game with the Texans. After impressing in his first year, Watson has comeback strong after a long rehab process. Watson has thrown for 2,597 yards, 18 touchdowns, and surrendered 9 interceptions. He has lead the Texans to a 7-3 record, first in the AFC South. Watson’s story has been underappreciated this season. Everyone is busy talking about the Rams and Chiefs and are forgetting about the Texans who to everyone’s surprise, are in first place. I am not saying that the hype around those two teams are unwarranted, but people need to start talking about what the Texans have done so far this season. Watson is able to rack up some yards with his legs, but has the arm talent to be successful in the pocket as well. Unlike Cam Newton, Watson has shown the ability to drive down the field consistently with his arm, not his legs. He is also a leader and has been praised for his poise and work ethic. Watson is a smart, athletic quarterback that could last a long time and put up numbers in the National Football League.

This new trio of Trubisky, Mahomes and Watson have an opportunity to form a new group of NFL greats. Add Goff and Wentz from the 2016 NFL Draft and the league has plenty of young talent to make the league entertaining for at least a decade.

WEEK 12 SMART STARTS & PINE RIDERS

Better late than never, am I right? Hello Fantasy enthusiasts. I hope everyone’s season is going well as we are in the closing weeks of the fantasy regular season. In this article i’ll be letting you know who I think should easily have a spot in your lineup and who should take a seat this week. Hopefully I can be of some assistance in a very crucial part of the season and help everyone catch that W this week. Also, Happy Turkey Day to everyone! Eat up and watch some football! Hope y’all enjoy 🙂

SMART STARTS

QB

JAMEIS WINSTON, TB

usa_today_10379644-0

The magic is gone down in Tampa and Jameis has a very easy matchup against a San Fran Defense who has allowed 2+ passing touchdowns in all but two games this year. Also, 7 out of 10 opposing QBs have scored at least 19 fantasy points against the Niners. Jameis should help you steal that win like the crab legs he stole back in 2014.

MITCH TRUBISKY, CHI

Just two weeks ago, Trubisky balled out against the Lions for 355 yards and 3 touchdowns and also scrambling for 18 yards and a score. And, it has been back to back weeks where the Lions have allowed 350+ yards and 3 touchdowns through the air as SuperCam did it last week as well. I expect Mitch to carve up the Lions D, just like a turkey on Thanksgiving.

RB

NICK CHUBB, CLE

Since week 6, the Bengals have allowed 8 rushing touchdowns. So Chubb has a very high chance of finding the End Zone at least once this week, especially because he has back to back weeks with a rushing touchdown. Not only this, but Cincinnati has allowed at least 86 rushing yards to opposing RBs since week 3, including 360 yards combined in the past to weeks. With Chubb’s high volume in a run heavy offense, I expect a great week.

MARLON MACK, IND

Mack has a very favorable matchup this week against the Dolphins. 7 out of 10 games this year Miami has allowed 100 yards rushing to opponents. In the 5 games Mack has played since returning from an ankle injury, he has 5 total touchdowns and three games with at least 80 rushing yards, including two games with over 120 yards. Mack should continue his success this week.

WR

JULIAN EDELMAN, NE

usa_today_9869888-0

Since returning from a four game suspension, Edelman has scored under 16 fantasy points only twice in PPR leagues and has 24 catches in the past three games. As Brady’s number one target he should be started most weeks, but especially this week against a weak Jets secondary who just allowed 41 points to the Bills before there bye week.

DOUG BALDWIN, SEA

Baldwin told the media last Thursday that he woke up for the first time all season without pain in his right knee, and it showed. He caught 7 of a team high 10 targets for 1 touchdown, but could have had another if Wilson didn’t overthrow him while wide open in the endzone. And this week he is going against a Carolina defense who has allowed 5 TDs and 563 yards receiving in the past three weeks. Baldwin is flirting with becoming a WR2 once again.

TE

VANCE Mcdonald, PIt

With the tight end position being so slim this year, McDonald has turned into a possible viable starter, accumulating 10 targets and two touchdowns in the past two weeks. And going against the Broncos who have allowed a touchdown to tight ends in three straight games makes him a great start this week.

PINE RIDERS

QB

PHILIP RIVERS, LAC

Rivers now has 3 weeks in a row with less than 20 fantasy points and 3 interceptions in those three games. And going up against the Cardinals who have not gave up more than two passing touchdowns all year long, Rivers could easily struggle. Especially because of all the pressure he will face as Arizona has at least 4 sacks in three straight games.

DESHAUN WATSON, HOU

It is now five consecutive weeks where Watson has failed to break 240 passing yards and he has 5 games this year with only one passing touchdown. Even if you put aside his struggles, he has a tough matchup against the Titans who have allowed only 4 Qbs to score more than 20 fantasy points against them this year. Watson should be placed on the bench easily this week.

RB

LeSEAN McCoy, BUF

LeSean McCoy

Despite McCoy going off two weeks ago against the Jets rushing for 113 yards and two scores, it has been an underwhelming season for the veteran back. And his troubles should continue this week against the Jags who have allowed only 4 rushing touchdowns all year and only 110 rushing yards in the past two weeks. Plus, it’s hard to trust any Bills player this year.

TEVIN COLEMAN, ATL

Coleman has struggled the past two weeks gathering just 19 carries for 102 yards rushing. And his slump very much could continue against the Saints this week. The most rushing yards the Saints have allowed a team to get in a game this year is 76 and that was week one against the Bucs. They have only allowed 6 scores on the ground as well. Tevin should have a quiet game this week.

WR

DEVIN FUNCHESS, CAR

In the past four weeks, Funchess only has caught 12 passes for 142 yards and no touchdowns. Yikes. This offense is truly McCaffrey’s with a sprinkle of Greg Olsen now that he is healthy. And if that isn’t bad enough, Seattle hasn’t allowed a receiving touchdown in two straight weeks and that was against Green Bay and the Rams. Funchess’ quietness should continue this week.

COREY DAVIS, TEN

Davis has been very up and down this year. For example, two weeks ago he goes 7 for 125 and a score, but comes back last week with only 2 catches for 30 yards. Very annoying. But I am predicting another down game for the second year wideout. Houston has not allowed a receiving score in four straight weeks and only six all year. Davis should easily be placed on the bench this week.

TE

ROB GRONKOWSKI, NE

623078542-0

The elite tight end has struggled to stay on the field yet again this year. But even when he was healthy he wasn’t the Gronk everyone was used to seeing, scoring only once back in week one. Plus, the Jets have allowed only 5 catches to tight ends in the past four games they have played. Look for another quiet one from Gronk.
